High School Students should be dropped off in the Agri parking lot. There are two entrances into the lot so that you can enter and exit without having to turn around. One entrance/exit is by the bus garage across from the Pre-K (not the side by the bus drop off, and the other entrance/exit is by the Agri Building.

I am looking forward to a great year with a great bunch of students. In that vein, I want to always be transparent with expectations, so I wanted to re-empahasize or clarify some of the rules or expectations that seem to be the harder ones for students to understand: Masks--Masks are required indoors anytime a students is traveling or even when not traveling if they cannot socially distance. The only time a student should not have their mask on correctly inside is when they are stationary and no one is within 6 feet. Lockers--My mistake--students cannot have lockers at this time. We will give students time to get items out tomorrow; then, those will be off limits again. We will look at allowing lockers if the mask mandate is lifted. From present through September 3-- Students will go to Homeroom during BIG Time on M, W, F. They will go to Study Hall during BIG Time on Tuesday & Thursday. Campus is a closed campus; students may not leave at lunch without a parent signing them out in the office. If they return after lunch, the parent must sign them back in. Students must have permission to sign out early and stay off campus through the rest of the day; they should check out through the office. Students who arrive late to school must sign in through the office. Please be aware of all rules in the handbook--in particular, the use of tobacco products/vape/alcohol, and closed campus which will result in ISS on the first infraction. Also be aware of dress code (short length, top length, hats in the buidling, etc.) and tardies--these will result in lunch detention and in the case of dress code could require a change of clothing be brought to school. High School students should never be in the middle school hallways without specific permisssion unless they are going to class or for the briefest of distance when they enter/exit down by the teardrop dropoff to go to the lunchroom. Being in middle school hallways or any other area which is unasssigned to a student will result in an out of area incident consequence and will rapidly evolve into detention then ISS. Please make sure you are where you are supposed to be at all times. Again, I want to emphasize that I think we have the best school in the state because we have the best students in the state. Thank you for your understanding and help in adhering to these rules and guidelines. I hope you have one of the best if not THE BEST year ever. If there is anything that Mr. Sullivan or I can do to help, just let us know. We will try out best to resolve any issues. GO JACKETS!!!

Credit Recovery This Summer at No Cost If credit recovery would be a good option for your student this summer or any other previous summer, and they would like to come to receive credit recovery to help put them back on track to graduate on time, there has been a change. The $100 cost per 1/2 credit has been waived. Funding the school received for this pandemic year allows us to offer the recovery classes at no cost. Determination of costs will be on a year-to-year basis to determine if funds are available to cover these costs, so at this time, this is the only summer that we know that courses will be offered at no costs to students. These courses are only for credit recovery to replace an F for a core course that has to be passed in order to graduate. Students are limited to 2 courses of ½ credit each. If your child is interested in taking a course(s) this summer, please return the letter if they still have one indicating their choices no later than June 8, or contact the school at (870) 269-3943 and ask for Mrs. Torey Hanna, the counselor Credit recovery is from July 6 – August 2, from 8:00-11:00 for the morning session, and from 12:00 -3:00 for the afternoon session. Each session will provide instruction for ½ credit. No transportation or food is provided. If you have any other questions, call us at (870) 269-3943. Sincerely, Kim Cruce MVHS Principal
